What is Ideogram 4.5?

Ideogram 4.5 is the 4.5 model from Ideogram, the company whose image models are known for prompt fidelity and crisp typography. Ideogram calls it its most precise edit model. Its pitch is editing with references, consistent multi-turn refinement, and detailed edits inside high-resolution images.

On MagicShot, Ideogram 4.5 runs in Image Editing. It draws from the same credit balance as every other tool in the app, so choosing it carries no separate fee. It is included on MagicShot's paid plans, and the commercial license that comes with them covers what you make with it.

Built to limit drift between edits

Ideogram describes the problem plainly. With each edit, image models can introduce pixel shifts, color changes and texture artifacts, and those add up over several turns. Ideogram 4.5 is built to reduce that drift and preserve details across multi-turn edits.

Ideogram's own example starts with a pair of knit running shoes. The first edit changes them to slate blue, and a later one adds a gum sole and a pale lilac backdrop. Across the chain, the shoes keep their shape and position.

The habit that matches this: change one thing per turn and end the instruction with what must stay. Ideogram's own sample prompt reads "Change the shoes to slate-blue knit. Keep everything else exactly the same."

Edit at any resolution

Ideogram says 4.5 edits high-resolution images without downsizing them. It preserves the edges of an edited crop, so the crop can be stitched back into the original. Its demo uses a 4,016 by 6,016 pixel image, about 24.2 megapixels, and recolors one handbag in a full campaign shot. In Ideogram's API, pixels an edit does not touch are copied exactly from the source and the result comes back at the source image's width and height.

Those are Ideogram's figures. The sizes and ratios you get on MagicShot follow the options shown in Image Editing for each run.

What it edits

Ideogram groups its examples into ten kinds of edit:

  • Color and lighting, such as recoloring a pair of shoes, a speaker or an espresso machine.

  • Text modification, such as translating a coffee brand system into Japanese, a bakery marquee into French or a market chalkboard into English.

  • Product photography, from a leather duffel to a mechanical keyboard.

  • Interior design, such as taking a bedroom to boho or a living room to Japandi.

  • Architecture, such as a storefront rebrand or red barns turned into a wedding venue.

  • Restoring old photos, including a 1910s machine shop and a 1920s wedding portrait.

  • Sketch to image, such as an architect's house elevation becoming a real-estate photograph.

  • Style reference, borrowing the look of Greek black-figure pottery, a Klimt painting or a tarot card.

  • Reframe, rebuilding exhibition and film posters at a new shape.

  • Depth to image, turning a depth map into a finished picture.

Guide an edit with references

Ideogram's API accepts up to four reference images to steer an edit with a product, a material or a style, and a mask to limit the change to one area. MagicShot's Image Editing accepts up to 4 uploads for Ideogram 4.5. Refer to each upload by position and say what it contributes, such as "image 1 is the room, image 2 is the fabric to use on the sofa."

Where Ideogram 4.5 fits among MagicShot's image models

Reach for Ideogram 4.5 when the job is a series of careful changes to one image: a product shot refined over several rounds, a sign translated, an old photo restored, a sketch turned into a render. For layout-first work with several separate elements, try FLUX 3 Image. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst is the model MagicShot recommends for a precise edit that has to hold up under a close look. Seedream 5.0 Pro can split a render into transparent PNG layers.

MagicShot also runs earlier Ideogram models in its Ideogram tool: V3 Advance, V3 Balanced, V3 Turbo, V2 and V2 Turbo.

What it costs on MagicShot
