Playoff basketball is about stories as much as scores: a franchise's history, a city's mood, the player everyone is watching. For the 2025 NBA Playoffs we made AI fan art for each team in the bracket, using the AI photo generator for the posters, image to video for motion, and the face swap tool for fan portraits. Below are sixteen tributes, each with a short note on what the team is known for. A small correction first: the Phoenix Suns did not make the 2025 field, so the last West image is a bonus tribute, and the Memphis Grizzlies were in the bracket instead.
The Eastern Conference
The East is built on history and defence: old arenas, rivalries that go back decades, and fan bases that treat every possession as personal. Boston and New York carry the weight of tradition, while Cleveland, Indiana, Milwaukee, Detroit, Orlando and Atlanta bring different mixes of grit and youth.
1. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are best known for the 2016 championship, which brought Cleveland its first NBA title. The fan base is loyal and proud of its underdog streak.

2. Boston Celtics
No franchise has more history. Bill Russell and Larry Bird built the legacy, and Jayson Tatum carries it into the modern era.

3. New York Knicks
One of the league's oldest teams and the home team of Madison Square Garden, with one of the loudest crowds in sports.

4. Indiana Pacers
Reggie Miller's Pacers of the 1990s and 2000s set the tone for a hard-working, team-first identity that continues today.

5. Milwaukee Bucks
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led the 1971 title team, and Giannis Antetokounmpo led the 2021 champions. The Bucks blend strength, speed and size.

6. Detroit Pistons
The late-1980s 'Bad Boys' made Detroit famous for defence and toughness, and the team has been rebuilding around young players.

7. Orlando Magic
A younger franchise that has featured Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway and Dwight Howard. The fans are always ready for the next breakout.

8. Atlanta Hawks
Dominique Wilkins defined the high-flying Hawks of the 1980s. Today the team plays fast and relies on playmaking.

The Western Conference
The West has long been the home of fast offences and star scorers. From Golden State's shooting to Los Angeles' stars, and from Oklahoma City's young core to Denver's centre-led offence, the conference is packed with personality.
1. Oklahoma City Thunder
A young, fast team built around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The franchise's history includes stars such as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

2. Houston Rockets
From Hakeem Olajuwon in the 1990s to James Harden's scoring years, the Rockets have often been innovators, and their fans love star power.

3. Los Angeles Lakers
Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have all worn gold and purple. The franchise is among the most decorated in the league.

4. Denver Nuggets
Nikola Jokic's passing and scoring led Denver to its first NBA title in 2023, and the team plays a creative, high-altitude style.

5. LA Clippers
After years in the Lakers' shadow, the Clippers have built an identity around defence and Kawhi Leonard's calm play.

6. Minnesota Timberwolves
Often cast as underdogs, the Wolves have grown around Anthony Edwards, one of the league's most exciting young players.

7. Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry's shooting changed how basketball is played, and the 'Strength in Numbers' era made history.

8. Phoenix Suns (bonus tribute)
Charles Barkley, Steve Nash, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker have all given Phoenix beautiful offence. The Suns were not in the 2025 field, but fans asked for this one.

How to make your own team art
Posters. Describe a scene in plain words, such as a player-less silhouette dunking under arena lights in your team's colours, and generate a few versions with the AI photo generator. - Motion. Animate a favourite poster with image to video for a short intro or highlight edit. - Fan portraits. Use face swap to put yourself into a fan poster, with your own photo or someone's who agreed. - Colours and style. Name your team's colours, the mood and a style such as comic book, vintage poster or neon.
Fan art ground rules
Team names and logos are trademarks. Fan art for personal use is common, but selling it can cause trouble. - Do not swap your face onto real athletes in ways that could mislead people, and do not present AI art as official or as real photographs. - Credit the tool and label the image as AI-made when you share it. - Check hands, jersey numbers and text, since AI often gets them wrong.
Wrap-up
Playoff fandom has always been creative: banners, murals, chants. AI adds one more way to make something for your team. Pick a franchise, write a prompt with its colours and mood, and see what comes back. You can start on MagicShot, where generation uses credits.
