Claude Cowork: The AI Teammate That Actually Gets Work Done

Claude Cowork is a research preview from Anthropic that turns Claude into a true digital coworker. Instead of answering prompts one by one, Cowork lets Claude take ownership of an outcome and do the work required to reach it.

You tell Claude what you want done. Claude creates a plan, breaks it into steps, runs those steps, and delivers finished results. You can watch the process or step away and return when the work is complete.

This shifts Claude from “assistant” to “executor.” That difference matters.

Cowork runs inside a virtual machine on your computer.

Current Limitations

Claude Cowork is still a research preview, which means some features are intentionally limited while Anthropic tests real-world usage. The tool already handles complex work well, but it is not designed to replace full project-based workflows yet.
